For all Android Galaxy S enthusiasts, a senior XDA member has successfully ported the Nexus S kernel to Galaxy I9000 to make a bootable Gingerbread rom. Supercurio (xda member), revealed some videos on YouTube supporting the port.
According to developer the new port uses the Nexus S kernel compiled from different sources. Moreover, this early beta preview runs on EXT 4. The kernel doesn’t support RFS, what so ever.
Developer furthermore stated that ‘I must admit I didn’t expect such a result’. GPS, Voice, Wi-Fi, some buttons and camera didn’t work after the successful port but things like sound, GL acceleration etc. surely did work. Finally, after viewing the video, we can surely say that it looks smooth! And looks like the finals can be achieved by developers.
