Motorola has been very good with the updates. Many of us may be waiting for the Motorola’s official Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the Motorola Droid X this weekend, but that did not yet roll out. But don’t be disappointed, you can still get hands on the Droid X update as Android 2.3.3 for Droid X has leaked out. This means that you can install this latest and great version of Smartphone software right on your device by following a few simple steps. One thing notably, is that this is much better than the old Motoblur and not a blur from days gone by.
Let us look at what are the key enhancements in this Android 2.3.3 version:
– Increased speed
– Menu with new improved look
– Dock with three customizable icons; Phone dialer, Email and Text messaging to put whatever you like (swap with a long press)
– Enhanced App Drawer allows you to customize group of Apps. You can make group of icons excluding all the VCAST stuff that’s on the phone and maybe the stub apps for NFS Shift and Madden 2011.
– Simple and safe way to get the bloatware out of sigh, if you don’t root and kill unwanted apps.
The official release of Gingerbread is expected to be a month away. But you can give it a shot if you can’t wait for the over-the-air update.
But be sure that to root your device as this is an unofficial release.
