Motorola since so long had been promising the CLIQ XT owners that the handset sooner could be updated from Andriod 1.5 to Android 2.1. However, yesterday the statement was issued from Motorola’s support forum that the update won’t be coming at all for this device.
“After comprehensive testing of the Android 2.1 upgrade for the CLIQ XT, we have concluded that this device will remain on Android 1.5. We realize many of you were anxiously awaiting this upgrade, but we aim to deliver software upgrades only when it will provide a better customer experience.”
So, while they don’t actually say that Android 2.1 will never be out for the CLIQ XT, they don’t exactly say it will ever come out. However, if things change we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
